screen-shot-2016-11-17-at-6-26-21-pmElaine M. “Cookie” Swink, 78, of Stroudsburg, died Thursday morning, Jan. 28, at Gluco Lodge in Hamilton Township. She was the widow of Clair Donald Swink, who died in September 2004. Born May 13, 1931, in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Jennie (Repsher) Mery, and lived in Monroe County for most of her life until moving to Tennessee in the 1970s. She returned to Monroe County in 2004. A graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, she worked in the office at Pocono Medical Center and then was a beautician in Marshalls Creek.  Elaine was a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church in East Stroudsburg. She is survived by four brothers-in-law, Elvin Swink and his wife, Lilah, of Stroudsburg, Lawrence Swink and his wife, Janet, of Neola, Ronald Swink and his wife, Alice, of Henryville, and Warren McNeil of Deering, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Jane Predmore, Leona Mutchler and Blanche McNeil; and two brothers, Raymond Mery and John Mery. Graveside services and burial will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Mount Joliet Memorial Gardens in Mount Joliet, Tenn., with the Rev. Randy Swink officiating. There will be no viewing.  Memorial remembrances may be made to Gluco Lodge, RR1 Box 1416, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
